Services

As well as energy procurement we provide the following services:

Bill Validation

Working with clients to ensure you only pay for the energy you use!

The invoices you receive are not always 100% correct therefore we undertake bill validation for all of our clients regardless of the amount of kilowatts used. Monitoring your energy bills allows us to quickly identify any over or under charging, incorrect pricing and any other inconsistencies which in turn will prevent large outstanding or owing balances from building up.

Usage data on invoices is often only estimated and some companies have their meters read as little as once a year which can also result in over or under payments.

At Energycentric we monitor your invoices taking into account all these factors on a regular basis.

Consultation on Smart Metering

Smart meters are the next generation of electricity and gas meters putting an end to estimated billing. Smart meters will enable clients and energy suppliers to monitor and pay for how much gas and electric is actually being used.

We highly recommend AMR Smart metering and can provide quotes at the time of procurement for this service.

Cost Recovery

Incorrect charging by energy suppliers is not unusual and can have a considerable impact on cash flow. It is likely where invoices have not been properly reconciled by the suppliers that they could submit additional costs covering the previous 2 to 3 years.

Luckily this also works the other way around! Energycentric checks client’s invoices for a minimum of the last 3 years with the possibility of going back 6 years for overpayments. As this service is based on “no win – no fee” there is no risk to the client. During 2009 we recovered over £650,000 in overpayments for charities and other businesses in the UK.

Click here to read a testimonial from Princess May School where through this process we were able to recover £38,000.

Any identified over payments are normally refunded by the supplier within 3 weeks of being agreed. On average 34% of all UK energy bills are incorrect so contact us today to see if you are due back some money.

CRC Consultancy

The CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme is a Government based initiative which is mandatory. The aim is to minimize UK carbon emissions whilst ensuring that we have access to clean and affordable energy for years to come.

The scheme will implement this firstly by charging organizations based on the carbon emissions that result from their energy use and secondly by putting the environmental performance of organizations in the public eye by publishing the emissions of those covered by the scheme in a public league table.

How does it work?
The CRC affects every organization which had a settled half hourly electricity meter in 2008. If the consumption is over 6,000 MWh (6,000,000kwh’s) per annum (circa £400k) then the organization needs to participate, if it is under then an information disclosure is needed.

At the start of each year organisations participating are required to purchase allowances to cover the amount of carbon that they expect to emit over the following year.

At the end of each year organisations covered will be placed in the public CRC league table. Carbon allowances will then be refunded based on ranking within the league table.

Organisations with poor environmental performance will be penalised, whilst those with good performance will be rewarded.

Group Buying Schemes

Basket buying is an innovative, fully risk managed, flexible purchasing solution with an excellent track record of delivering quantifiable results.

We assemble an exclusive group of sizeable energy users to qualify for a fully flexible energy contract, normally only available to the larger electricity and gas consumers.

By using a flexible energy contract with refloat capabilities, (selected following a challenging supplier tender to ensure the very best terms and conditions) we can lock in prices if it is judged the market is rising and unlock commitments should prices be softening.

This allows us to re-purchase at more competitive prices. With a defined risk-averse strategy and policy, managed by our team of experts, the priority is always to protect each client’s budget, optimising their position when opportunities arise.

We currently have a number of basket groups available including, charity basket, automotive basket, manufacturing basket and an education basket.

Fixed Term Contracts

The simple approach to fixing electricity and gas contract prices over a fixed term.

Why sign a fixed price contract?

A contract provides you with the best available prices because the supplier knows your custom is guaranteed for a fixed period of time. This allows our brokers to purchase energy in advance and pass the beneficial rate onto our client.

Will it suit my needs?

Fixed term contracts will normally benefit substantial users over a period of time enabling consistent budget control and energy management.

A fixed term contract allows you to set your prices for a period of up to three years, based on a tariff structure that reflects the way you use energy.
